Taking emotion out of it was good listening to Thomas Frank after
He said we were better up to when they scored
He also said you have to take chances at this level
Most worrying for us he said and rightly that second half was closer to 3-0 than 2-1
Got to ask Moyes way that is

TM cant argue with that.
He's done busted.
Look at what Howe did at the Barcodes. Thats the standard.
Moyes sorted our team. Played organised counter attacking with limited squad. Thats over. Worked out.

We could be 19th by end of the day.
That is some collapse from start of 2022
If hit bottom three I wonder if that is a trigger.

the last two years were a fluke. He's consistently played players out of position and showed favouritism to a small core whether they're doing well or not. fornals, who I like as a player, has been used for the best part of a year as a left side defensive winger. flushed a year of the lad's career down the toilet just so he can provide insurance for a useless fucking left back that should have been sold or retired long ago. vlasic, another given the same treatment. apparently arteta, who I'm no fan of, made reference to when he arrived at everton and was asked to do a similar wide role despite never having played there in his career. this lunacy is what the moyes fundamentalists have backed and continue to support. he was doing the same nonsensical shit with pearce and irvine alongside him yet you still get this crap rolled out, the same with noble not being there despite the fact he was there when this shit show started last december

You can lose badly or by small margins.
The theme here being for about a year we've been losing badly or sometimes by small margins, but still losing.
A good manager would be able to look at losing by small margins and tweak the system, the play, players or coaching to make improvements.
A competent modern manager would look at the whole structure and start the whole transformation to make the game simple and effective for the players.
I hoped that Moyes had this ability, the first 2 seasons were largely good. Why we're seeing now is that his football has been worked out and a year of this without any positive changes makes us doubt his ability to do anything differently.
Change is hard, I don't think he can. Everton fans have told me the same, he's too stuck. Signings haven't played well because our play hasn't changed
Carry on like this and we'll pay the price. Relegation / dogfight. Break up of promising squad.
Sorry Daves but time to change. What's next?

With 10 minutes to go at 2.0 down and having just seen Antonio completely miss the ball when attempting to shoot i looked around the half empty souless bowl that masquerades as a football stadium and suddenly felt very nostalgic for Upton park and Ian Dowie.

Your devils advocate is finding excuses for the team being shit?
Bogey team bollocks, we should be beating teams like Crystal Palace and Brentford at home. Crystal Palace are shit, regardless of the ridiculous fanfare of Vieira, and we made them look like Real Madrid, their only away win in 6 months.
We've won 5 home league games in this calendar year. That is fucking scandalous. Not amount of pathetic reasons of why we can't beat certain teams can excuse that.

Playing devils advocate for a second, it’s not ideal when a manager is under such pressure that your next 4 games are…Arsenal-flying at the top of the table, Brentford(twice)-already a bogey team for us, beating us twice last season when we were playing better than we are now, and Leeds who are 100mph nutters who will 100% pressurise us for 90 mins. Quite feasible we will lose all 4 - have already lost the first 2. The teams confidence is shot and that was evident once we went behind yesterday. We have forgotten how to score goals. But for all the negative Moyes comments, what I saw yesterday, first half up to the first goal when my stream died, and what I read on BBC text covering the game, we were far from negative. The BBC guy was gushing with praise for us at half time and couldn’t believe we were 0-2 down. So we can play, attractive attacking football but as stated, once we conceded and the confidence went, it all turned to shit again. Ideally we needed to play those near the bottom, most likely to go down, Forest, Bournemouth and Southampton, to (hopefully) get a win and some confidence. Not sure if Moyes has until the Everton game but that’s our next best chance of a win.

My nephew took his boy to that game last night and the 2 tickets set him back £85. Yet the Moyes apologists do nothing but defend him . No thought is given about the poor supporters who have to sit through that depressing shit that is David moyes idea of football .

There's a death stench about the club and particularly Moyes. They're actually getting worse as each match comes along and it summed it all up for me when I saw Antonio laughing with the Brentford players at the end. Where's your pride in yourselves you owe it to the fans at least.

"This season is sadly developing an all-too-familiar feel about it."
It had that feeling a while ago, Mike, I said exactly that after about 7 games. We've all seen it so many times, and it was so obvious this was coming. Believe it or not, I'm very positive at the start of any season and always get behind our managers at that time, but you could see even in pre-season that what happened at the back end of last season had carried over.
We are in deep, deep trouble, and we're wasting games by not pumping him. They won't sack him yet, and he'll probably nick a win against Leeds, but it's just delaying the inevitable.

yes, I care but it's moved on from moyes now. he couldn't have done more to get himself sacked, it's been a perfect campaign of incompetence yet that dwarf scumbag still does nothing. I hope the jock dinosaur is in the dug out at elland road, because every game now switches the attention on to those useless cunts running/ruining the club

This season is sadly developing an all-too-familiar feel about it.
I can't work out why it is Moyes buys a player who exceeds in one position them promptly plays him in another.
Seems that we've had our "moment of glory" for this generation of the squad (and should be eternally grateful for the memories) and the owners are now simply playing the odds that there will (still) be 3 teams worse than us when relegation threatens; nothing can challenge their "bread & butter" PL status - nothing, even if it is for the better of the club.

Try reading posts and replying to them rather than what you'd hoped they'd written.

As mentioned earlier we desperately need pace and strength throughout the team at the back, midfield and particularly up front. So whoever comes in after we lose to Leeds and Everton will need the club to spend some more money. Yes someone might get a better tune out of those we bought in the summer but imo and that of many over there the lack of pace, movement is glaring. Result is a complete lack of tempo and crispness in passing which makes us unable to break teams down

At least i can know enjoy the rest of the PL fixtures this weekend!

Let’s not slag off Scamacca tonight. A bit sluggish in the press, maybe, but the service to him was digshite. Blind high balls into the box were the scraps he was living off. One through ball from Pacqueta was, more or less it. If we’re looking at Haller Mark 2 here, then the problem, in my view, is elsewhere.

There is a video on you tube of Moyes teaching young players how to press from the front. It is three years old so he has obviously forgotten!
